My favorite children's book/story:
Reading to children is one of my very favorite things. The classic fairy tales, Dr. Seuss and so many other books, unite us in understanding and enjoying each other and our world. Helping children to experience the feelings that many stories evoke is the "magic." I especially love to introduce them to "pretend scared."
Why did you decide to work with preschoolers?
I happened upon this profession quite by accident. While hanging out at my children's preschool, the director offered me a job. That was over thirty years ago. I love what I do and with whom I get to do it!
What do you love the most about teaching/working with little ones?
Interactions with our parents and children are the most special parts of my day. Just looking at life through the eyes of a child is a blessing all should experience. It really helps keep you young.
From your perspective, what makes the Children's Center so special?
Being a part of the Administrative team is exciting. The Children's Center staff is the best kind of family. We deeply love and care about each other. We have been through ups and downs together. We laugh every day. We are united in our joy for all of these wonderful children. We value each and every child's uniqueness and know they are special gifts, "just the way they are." There just isn't a better job in the world.
